Rooboy (Kayode Olatunde): BBNaija Season 10 Hypeman and Foundation
Kayode Olatunde, known as Rooboy, is a Nigerian hypeman, event host and actor who took part in Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 10 in 2025. He was evicted in the ninth week, on 28 September 2025, one week before the finale. Before the show he worked at concerts and parties and ran a small foundation and an annual concert, and after it he has said he wants to rebuild that work, take acting roles and, eventually, run for governor of Lagos State. This profile is based on the show’s eviction coverage and two post-show interviews, and it flags the basic facts, such as age and home state, that outlets report differently.

Who he is
Legit.ng describes Rooboy as an event host, performer, television personality and brand influencer who works with disc jockeys and event organisers to energise crowds at concerts, festivals and parties. That is what a hypeman does: keeps an audience excited and engaged while a DJ or an artist performs. New Telegraph opens its November 2025 interview by calling him a “hypeman extraordinaire”, and says he is a performer and actor from Ogun State who brought “high energy, blunt honesty, and a genuine, un-strategic approach” to the season. His own words on entering the show, quoted by Legit.ng and Channels TV, were that he had “the charisma to lead the house, the cleverness to play the game, and the heart to win the people”, and that he planned to be loyal, bring drama and stay authentic.
Age, birth and home state: conflicting reports
Several outlets disagree about basic details. Legit.ng’s profile gives his full name as Kayode Olatunde Samuel and his date of birth as 27 June 1995, which would make him 31 in October 2026, and says he comes from Ogun State. Daily Post, reporting an October 2025 interview with PulseNG, called him a 30-year-old hypeman and rising actor from Ogun State who is based in Lagos. Yet Channels TV, on the night of his eviction, described him as a “27-year-old hypeman” and called him an “Ondo-born actor”. Both cannot be right, and the show’s own profile page, which we could not read, would be the best source. Because one of the main details, the date of birth, appears on only one biography site, we show it as reported. We omit family details: Legit.ng and New Telegraph mention his late mother, but those are personal and unnecessary for a profile of his public career.
Before Big Brother
New Telegraph’s interview gives the clearest picture of his pre-show work. He runs two ventures that he calls his “baby”: the Rooboy Foundation, which he says is meant to give young people basic educational needs, and the Rooboy Experience, which he describes as the entertainment arm. The Rooboy Experience, he said, is an annual concert, and he put it on hold in 2022 because he could no longer sustain it. He said that before BBNaija he funded both with his own money, which slowed things down because he was just starting out. These are his own statements, and we did not find independent coverage of the foundation’s activities, size or registration.
BBNaija Season 10
Season 10 opened with 29 housemates, according to Legit.ng and Channels TV. The Channels report on his exit describes how the weeks went: the house had been cut to ten finalists by the ninth week. In that report Channels said that in the house he “brought energy and drama, patched up disputes quickly and bonded with housemates like Imisi, Thelma and Zita”, while also noting that Zita, a two-time Head of House, had clashes with him. His own account in the New Telegraph interview is that he joined to use the platform to grow his brand and to win the prize money, for which he said he had plans.
The eviction
On Sunday 28 September 2025, host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu announced three evictions: Mide, Zita and Rooboy. Channels TV says they polled the lowest votes of the week, as verified by Deloitte and confirmed by M-Net, and gives the official chart as Mide with 5.62%, Rooboy with 2.36% and Zita with 1.49%. Rooboy wished his fellow housemates well on the way out. He said Big Brother had given him a nine-week platform and that he was grateful, and described his plans: a return to live performances, expansion of the Rooboy Foundation, support for the football community, and exploring acting alongside his entertainment career. New Telegraph reports that Imisioluwa won the season, and quotes Rooboy saying he was disappointed not to win himself, because he had plans for the prize money, but was happy for her.
After the show
In the New Telegraph interview, published on 8 November 2025, Rooboy said he was still adjusting to celebrity status and that “celebrity lifestyle isn’t for the weak”, because it requires maintaining a good image at outings and in public. He said he was working with his team on a full “repackaging” of his brand, was open to collaborations, influencing and hosting jobs, and hoped to be called by movie producers. He said he wanted to revive the Rooboy Experience concert, and that he hoped the foundation would find support now that he had a larger platform.
In a separate interview with PulseNG, reported by Daily Post on 8 October 2025, he said he would contest the Lagos State governorship election “in the future” and urged fans to prepare to support him. This is a stated ambition, not a campaign, and we found no evidence of a party membership or candidacy declaration. We did not find coverage of his activities in 2026, which is a gap in this profile.
Why the details matter
Reality television profiles online are often copied from one another, and small errors, such as a wrong age or home state, persist. The old version of this article said he was 29 and gave a net worth; the age was a snapshot, and the net worth had no source. We have removed the net worth entirely, because earnings from hosting, brand deals and the show’s prize or appearance fees are private. If you want to cite a fact from this page, the safest ones are his eviction date, the vote percentages and his statements about his foundation, because they come from published reports and his own interviews.
What we could not verify
- His age and date of birth: 27 June 1995 appears on one profile; other outlets gave 27 or 30 as his age in 2025.
- His home state: Ogun in most profiles, but Channels TV said Ondo.
- The size, funding and registration of the Rooboy Foundation, and details of past Rooboy Experience concerts.
- Any acting credits: he describes himself as an actor, but we did not find a credits list.
- His activities and income in 2026, and any political steps toward a Lagos governorship run.
- The official BBNaija profile page, which could not be loaded; Legit.ng’s summary of it was used instead.
