Miwa Olorunfemi: Actress, Producer and YouTube Filmmaker
Miwa Olorunfemi is a Nigerian actress, producer and content creator who has moved from radio presenting into Nollywood and, more recently, into producing her own films for YouTube. She is also a mental-health advocate and the founder of a perfume brand. The earlier version of this page on hqbios.com listed awards, documentaries and a net worth that we could not confirm anywhere else, so we have removed them. This profile is rebuilt from interviews and film-database entries and marks the facts that conflict between sources.

From radio to film
The African Movie Database says Miwa Olorunfemi completed secondary school at Federal Government Girls College, Kabba, in 2015 and graduated in Mass Communication from the University of Abuja in 2019. Legit.ng confirms the university and says she was born in Lokoja and raised in Abuja. After graduation she worked as an on-air personality at Silverbird Rhythm 94.7 FM in Abuja from 2019 to 2020, according to the database. In a Guardian Nigeria interview she described a path that began with skits and presenting before film, and she said her family had initial worries about her moving into acting.
In that interview she said her film journey began with Journey of the S in 2018, directed and produced by Hafeez Adeyemi, about the struggles of a sickle cell patient, a project she said was close to her heart. She also said she was an extra in Merry Men 1 and 2 and that she appeared in the second season of the African Magic series Halita. Legit.ng and the African Movie Database both date her screen debut to Halita in 2019, so the starting point differs by source. We note both and do not settle it.
Acting credits
The Guardian interview names Treasure in the Sky, a high school drama she said was released on a YouTube channel and was watched more than 13 million times within a week, in which she played a character called Kamsi. She also named the lead role in Farin Jini, a long-running northern-themed series that she said airs on Rok 2 and Iroko TV across six seasons. Other titles listed by Legit.ng and the African Movie Database include Ijogbon (2023, as Omashola), New Haven (2023), Brown Sugar (2023), A Love to Remember (2024), Interlocked Hearts and Inndo (2025). The database counts 41 film credits between 2023 and 2026, while Legit.ng says about 25; counts like these vary because YouTube movies are not always logged.
Producing for YouTube
The Nollywood Reporter profiled her in 2026 under the headline about building a film business on YouTube. It says she is growing Miwa Olorunfemi TV, a channel where she produces original Nigerian stories, and discusses a film called Flowers for Zirachi, starring her alongside Lateef Adedimeji, Gift Igah, Agatha Gambo, Chinedum Odiaka and Austine Ephraim, directed by Reuben Reng and written by Adejo “Storypriest” Emmanuel. She tells the magazine that the channel gives her creative freedom but also more risk and that every release needs story development, production, marketing and audience work. In the Guardian interview she also named two YouTube films she produced, Love Me Again and New Haven.
Business and advocacy
She is described as the founder of Flairtitude Studio (2021) and the perfume brand Flairgrance (2020), according to the African Movie Database, and as a mental-health advocate. Legit.ng says she endorses fashion brands, including Hair Sense, Debbie’s Beauty Touch and Ciar. We could not find independent reporting on the size of either business.
What we removed from the earlier version
The previous hqbios.com article said her birth year was unknown, then said she had created documentaries called Voices Unheard and City Stories, won a “National Documentary Award” in 2022 and a “Rising Star” honour at a “Global Film Festival” in 2023, and had a net worth between $150,000 and $250,000. None of the interviews or databases we read mentions any of these. We have deleted them. If they are true, the source should be named, and we will gladly restore them with it.

How to read conflicting biographical details
Her case is a good example of why databases disagree. One source says her screen debut was Halita in 2019; she herself mentioned an earlier project in 2018 and a role as an extra in a comedy film. One source counts 41 credits and another about 25. Birth details come from sites that do not cite documents. None of this means anyone is lying. It usually means that small productions, YouTube films and extra roles are not logged consistently, and that profile writers copy from each other. The sensible approach is to rely on her own interviews for her story and to treat database counts as approximate.
A second lesson concerns the awards. Many biography sites invent or inflate honours to make a page look complete, and search engines repeat them. A real award is usually announced by the organisers and covered by a news outlet. If you cannot find that, be cautious. We found nothing of that kind for her, which is why the earlier claims were removed.
Finally, a note about how she presents her work. In The Nollywood Reporter she describes failure as “failing forward” and says she wants the freedom to champion stories she believes in. That is her stated approach, and it is consistent with her move into producing on her own channel.
