Early Life and Education
His full name is Willie Maduabuchukwu Obiano. He was born on August 8, 1985, in the town of Aguleri in Anambra State. He attended one of the best secondary colleges in Nigeria, the prestigious Christ the King College, Onitsha. Obiano showed promise as a child. He even won the John F. Kennedy prize in the year 1974. He eventually attended university and graduated from the University of Lagos with a B.Sc. degree in Accounting and an MBA in Marketing.
Career And Politics
Before he ventured into the political scene, he made his career as a distinguished banker, working at multiple banks such as First Bank, Fidelity Bank, etc. he also worked as an auditor for Texaco Nigeria PLC. To improve himself, he had to travel to megacities such as London, New York, and Houston to take management and executive courses.
In November 2013, he joined the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and contested for the position of governor in the Anambra state election, which he won comfortably. Obiano was sworn in on March 14th of 2014, and served for two terms, which ended on March 17 of 2022.
