Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, popularly known as Sabinus, was born on the 5th of January in 1995 in the city of Port-Harcourt, Rivers State. He discovered his interest and talent for comedy early on as a young child. Sabinus attended the University of Port-Harcourt, where he studied Linguistics and Communication Skills. He was active in talent shows and comedy shows during his university days. He began stand-up comedy while in school and eventually ventured into skit-making.
Career: From Skits to Stardom
Sabinus began his comedy career at UNIPORT, but it was when he moved to Lagos in 2019 that his career really took off. He started by posting skits on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok that depicted ordinary Nigerian life infused with signature hooks and dramatic facial expressions that really shook the internet.
He grew his audience massively due to the quality of his skits and how funny they were to he extent that he won the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) for Best Online Content Creator.
