Madalitso Fred Kazombo was born on the 31st of May 1979 in Kasungu District, located in Malawi’s Central Region. Kazombo pursued tertiary education at the University of Malawi’s Chancellor College, where he studied Computer Science and Demography. He later trained as a chartered accountant at the Malawi College of Accountancy.

After the completion of his studies, Kazombo kick-started his career as an auditor with Deloitte. He later worked as an internal auditor at Press Corporation Limited, where he showcased strong analytical skills and a firm commitment to accountability and transparency.

Kazombo entered politics in 2014 when he contested for the position of Member of Parliament for Kasungu East Constituency and won under the platform of the Malawi Congress Party. In 2019, Kazombo was elected the First Deputy Speaker of Malawi’s National Assembly, where he presided over legislative debates and ensured the enforcement of parliamentary rules and procedures.

Beyond the world of politics, Kazombo was a commercial farmer who prioritised crop cultivation, livestock rearing, and fish production. He was also an avid supporter of youth and women’s education, especially within his local community.

Kazombo was a happily married man with three children. He intentionally kept his personal life private, away from public attention. Sadly, he passed away on the 8th of January 2026 after suffering an asthma attack, a loss that prompted national mourning and tributes from political leaders and ordinary citizens alike.
