Samuel Chukwueze was born on the 22nd of May 1999 in Unuahia, Abia State. Chukwueze grew up in a Christian household where football was a daily part of his life, and he frequently played the sport from a young age. As a child, he admired Nigerian legend Jay-Jay Okocha, the Dutch maestro Arjen Robben, whom he regarded as his models.
Chukwueze attended Government College Unuahia and Evangel Secondary School, where, notwithstanding the pressures associated with academics, he managed to stay committed to his education. His exposure to local academies helped in honing his talent.

Chukwueze began his football journey at the Diamond Football Academy in Nigeria before moving to Villarreal’s youth setup in Spain in 2017.
